Moment

One morning she woke up and it had rained.
The humidity still hung in the air like a memory
or a promise.

There was a strange silence in her house.
It pressed on her eardrums and added inertia to her moves.
Sounds muffled.

The sun fell over the floor, slanted and golden
reflecting onto her stomach
showing on her face as a smile.

Last nights shadows washed away for now.
The window ajar.

One morning she woke up and it had rained.
